COVID 19 Government assistance for the self-employed

Check to see if you can claim a grant through the Self-Employed Income Support Scheme

 

The Government have now put up a link to allow the self-employed to start the process of claiming grants under the Self-Employed Income Support Scheme. This taxable grant could be worth up to £2,500 per month for 3 months, so £7,500 in total. Guidance can be found here: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/claim-a-grant-through-the-coronavirus-covid-19-self-employment-income-support-scheme

 

To check your eligibility for a grant under the Self-Employment Income Support Scheme use this link and enter your Unique Taxpayers Reference Number (UTR) and NI number https://www.tax.service.gov.uk/self-employment-support/enter-unique-taxpayer-reference you will then be told if you are eligible and the date that you can apply from.

 

Unfortunately, agents such as Breckman & Company are not allowed to apply on behalf of their clients.

 

To apply you will need your own Government Gateway. If you do not already have one, you will need to register, and you can use this link:

And then:

 

Click the GREEN sign in button.
Click “Create sign in details”.
Enter your email address where asked.
You will now be emailed a confirmation code. Use this code to confirm your email address.
You will now be issued with a User ID for your government gateway account.
